Are you on your Green Smoothie game? I’ve always loved smoothies, but to be honest green smoothies always scared me. I was convinced that they couldn’t taste as well as one made with just fruit. And I was too stubborn to give them a try. Fast forward to when I finally tried making some on my own and my oh my do I regret my stubborness. If it weren’t for the green color, I couldn’t even tell the smoothies were chock full of leafy greens (spinach or kale are my favorites). This 4-Ingredient Immune Boosting Green Smoothie is not only simple to make with just four ingredients but it contains lots of Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and folate. Perfect for keeping your immune system in tip top shape as we enter cold and flu season.
All this smoothie calls for is spinach, banana, orange, and pineapple. And of course a little water to help blend everything up. Super easy. To make sure it’s nice and cold, I use at least one frozen fruit in the smoothie. You can even use all frozen if that’s what you have on hand. You just may need to add a little more water to help everything blend together.
This is my basic, go-to, green smoothie recipe but it’s super easy to switch it up! If i’m having it after a workout, I add some protein powder. If i’m looking for a fiber boost then I’ll add some chia or flax seeds to the blender, or even just sprinkled on top.
This 4-Ingredient Immune Boosting Green Smoothie is not only simple to make with just four ingredients but it contains lots of Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and folate. Thanks to the sweetness from the pineapple and orange, you won’t even know there is spinach in this smoothie.
1 cup spinach
1/2 cup water
1/2 banana (fresh or frozen)
1 orange (peeled and cut into chunks or wedges, fresh or frozen)
1 cup pineapple chunks (fresh or frozen)
In your blender, blend all ingredients together until smooth. You may need to add additional water depending on the power of your blender. Enjoy 🙂
In order for the smoothie to be cold, use at least one frozen fruit. You can use all frozen fruit as well but you may need to add more water to help it blend. Alternatively, you can serve over ice.
