Air Fryer Crispy Brussels Sprouts are an easy, yet delicious way to make vegetables. A perfect side dish for so many meals. Fresh Brussels sprouts are air fried along with some parmesan and Panko Breadcrumbs that make the crispiest, crunchiest addition.

How to Make Air Fryer Brussels sprouts
Cooking vegetables in the air fryer is a great option. The Brussels sprouts are just tossed with oil, salt, pepper, and a little garlic powder before being added to the air fryer. Halfway through the cooking you'll top them with the Panko and Brussels before finishing in the air fryer.
The result is Brussels that are tender yet with crispy edges and with a golden, crunchy Panko parmesan topping.
Ingredients You'll Need:
- Brussels Sprouts - To prep Brussels for cooking, you'll trim the ends and cut them in half lengthwise (through the end that you trimmed). Sometimes the trimming causes some of the outer leaves to separate - you can just discard those. I also love making these Brussels Sprouts with Pancetta.
- Olive Oil - You could substitute another cooking oil like canola oil
- Garlic Powder, Salt and Pepper
- Panko Breadcrumbs
- Parmesan Cheese - I prefer finely shredding fresh, but you could also use grated if that's what you have on hand
- Cooking Spray
What is an Air Fryer?
An air fryer is essentially a compact countertop convection oven. A fan circulates the hot air at a quick speed which creates a crispy layer on foods without needing to fry in oil.
Is Air Fryer food healthier?
The air fryer lets you cook foods using very little oil - significantly less than what is used for pan frying or deep frying. But you can still get foods nice and crispy and golden.
How long should you cook Brussels sprouts in the air fryer?
Brussels sprouts take 13-15 minutes in the air fryer at 400 degrees F. For these Air Fryer Crispy Brussels Sprouts, we add the Panko and parmesan halfway through.
Can the air fryer be lined with foil?
Due to the holes in the air fryer basket, some of the parmesan and panko is going to fall through. This did not bother me because the pieces that fell through still got nice and crispy so I just dumped them all out into the bowl at the end.
But, if you prefer, you could put a layer of foil in. Be aware that foil does limit air flow in in an air fryer. It's the air flow that helps get food so crispy, so the Brussels may be slightly less crisp.
Serving Ideas
This is an easy vegetable side dish for so many dinners. I love pairing them with chicken, fish, or even a good steak.
Leftovers, Storage, and Reheating
The Brussels are best served (and at their crispiest) right after making
Leftovers and Storage: Leftover Brussels Sprouts can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 4 days.
Reheating: To help crisp up the Brussels again, I recommend reheating in the air fryer or the oven at 350 degrees F until warmed.

Air Fryer Crispy Brussels Sprouts
Air Fryer Crispy Brussels Sprouts are an easy, yet delicious way to make vegetables. A perfect side dish for so many meals. Fresh Brussels sprouts are air fried along with some parmesan and Panko Breadcrumbs that make the crispiest, crunchiest addition.
- Prep Time: 10 minutes
- Cook Time: 15 minutes
- Total Time: 25 minutes
- Yield: 4 servings
- Category: Side, Vegetable
- Method: Air Fryer
- Cuisine: American
- Diet: Vegetarian
Ingredients
- 1 lb Brussels Sprouts, ends trimmed and cut in half lengthwise
- 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
- ½ teaspoon Garlic Powder
- ¼ teaspoon Kosher Salt
- ⅛ teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
- ¼ cup Panko Breadcrumbs
- ¼ cup grated or finely shredded Parmesan Cheese
- Cooking Spray
Instructions
- Prepare Brussels Sprouts. In a bowl, toss the trimmed and halved Brussels with the olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Toss until evenly coated.
- Air Fry. Add Brussels to air fryer basket and air fry at 400 degrees F for 7 minutes.
- Add Panko and Parmesan. Shake air fryer basket and adjust brussels so they form an even layer with no large gaps. Sprinkle the sprouts with the Panko and parmesan. The even layer helps keep all the Panko and parmesan from falling through. Some will fall through to the bottom and that's okay! At the end you can pour out those crispy bits. Gently spray the top with a spritz of cooking spray.
- Air Fry Again. Air Fry for another 6-7 minutes at 400 degrees F until Brussels are crisp tender and Panko/parmesan is golden brown and crispy.
- Serve. Pour Brussels into a serving bowl and be sure to get all the crispy Panko that fell through. Enjoy!
