Cinnamon Sugar Apple Cake
Oh my goodness. This is one of those recipes that make me wish smells could be transported via screen. From the apples and the cinnamon sugar, it smells. SO. GOOD. Pure Fall. This Cinnamon Sugar Apple Cake is extra moist and loaded with fresh apple chunks. And don’t forget about the crunchy cinnamon sugar topping. Hello the best fall dessert (or even as a sweet treat at brunch..).
The Apple Cake is very easy to mix up. We start with mixing LOTS of brown sugar with some oil, egg, vanilla, buttermilk (or vinegar + milk) and baking soda. Then just mix in the flour and fold in lots of chopped apples. I used granny smith apples because I had them on hand, but use whatever you’ve got! Finally, we sprinkle on a topping made of melted butter, cinnamon, and sugar. Holy YUM! Now just try to be patient for the 45 minutes while it bakes – the smell coming from the oven makes this difficult.
