    Why I Love It:

    • Creamy Pasta - The Boursin melts into a super creamy sauce.
    • Simple Ingredients - You only need a few simple ingredients to make a super flavorful pasta sauce.
    • Baked - The Boursin and tomatoes bake in the oven while the pasta cooks for a super easy recipe.

    Ingredients and Equipment

    • Boursin Cheese - I used the Garlic & Herb flavor, but you can swap in another flavor.
    • Grape Tomatoes
    • Olive Oil
    • Minced Garlic
    • Spices - Salt, Pepper, Italian Seasoning, Red Pepper Flakes, Onion Powder
    • Pasta - I like to use a short noodle like penne, rigatoni, or farfalle. Also try this Rigatoni al Forno recipe!
    • Pasta Water - Make sure to save some of the starchy water after cooking the pasta
    • Basil and Parmesan Cheese - For garnishing and serving
    • Baking Dish - You can use a 8x8 or 9x9 baking dish to bake the Boursin Cheese and tomatoes.
    • Pasta Pot and Colander- You'll need a pot large enough to cook up your pasta and colander to drain.

    Step by Step Instructions

Making a Boursin pasta is so easy! It takes only a few minutes of prep.

    1. Prep - Start by getting the oven preheating and a large pot of salted water boiling for the pasta.
    2. Add to Baking Dish - In a baking dish (at least 8x8 inches or larger), add the grape tomatoes and toss with the olive oil, garlic, and spices. Place the Boursin Cheese in the middle.
    3. Bake - Bake the cheese and the tomatoes in the oven for 30-35 minutes until the cheese is golden brown and starting to melt down and the tomatoes are roasted and beginning to burst.
    4. Cook Pasta - Meanwhile cook the pasta until al dente. Don't forget to reserve some of the starchy pasta water.
    5. Make Sauce - Remove the Boursin baking dish from the oven. Stir the Boursin and the tomatoes (so the tomatoes finish 'popping'). Add the cooked pasta and slowly add the reserved pasta water until the desired consistency is reached.
    6. Serve - Sprinkle with fresh basil, if using, and serve with grated Parmesan cheese.

    Variations

    • Fresh Herbs - If you have some fresh herbs on hand, you can chop them up and add to the sauce. Fresh basil and fresh parsley would be delicious!
    • Fresh Spinach - For an extra veggie boost, fold in some chopped baby spinach into the hot pasta and sauce until it wilts.
    • Add a Protein - Try topping the pasta with cooked shrimp or cubed cooked chicken.

    Leftovers and Storage

Due to the creaminess of the sauce, I recommend eating the pasta right after making. But you can store leftovers in the fridge for up to 4 days. Be aware that the sauce may slightly 'break' and separate when you go to reheat it, but it will still taste great.

    Recipe Tips

    • Pasta Water - Using the reserved pasta water is crucial to get a creamy sauce texture that adheres to the pasta. I like to reserve more than I'll need and then add a little bit at a time until the desired consistency is reached.
    • Double the Recipe - This recipe serves 3-4 people, but can easily be doubled to feed a crowd. The main change is you'll need to use a larger baking dish.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Is Boursin a good melting cheese?

Boursin cheese is a softer cheese that does melt well! Not only is it great served with crackers on a cheese board, but it melts well into these mashed potatoes or pasta dishes as well.

    Can you heat up Boursin?

Yes, you can heat up Boursin! When heated, it melts into a thick creamy texture that incorporate well into hot dishes

    Serving Ideas

This creamy pasta is a meal on its own, but you can add some sides to round out the meal!

    • Crusty Bread - Pick up a baguette from the store or make a batch of no-knead bread.
    • Side Salad - This recipe pairs well with a simple garden salad, Caesar salad, or this arugula salad.

    Other Creamy Pasta Recipes

    • Spicy Vodka Pasta - This Copycat Carbone recipe is easy enough to make on a weeknight but indulgent enough to make for a date night! It’s spicy, creamy, and super rich.
    • French Onion Pasta - Start with caramelized onions in a large pot then add the remaining ingredients, including the uncooked pasta. Everything cooks up in the one pot for easy clean up!
    • Creamy Spicy Gnocchi - The sauce takes less than 10 minutes to make (all while the gnocchi cooks) so you can have dinner in under 30 minutes (including the time it takes to boil water!).
