How to Make Green Beans in the Air Fryer

Fresh green beans are such a versatile side dish and they cook in as little as 5 minutes in the air fryer! Start by rinsing and trimming your green beans, then toss with the oil and spices. Arrange in the air fryer, in an even layer, and air fry for 5-8 minutes until your desired doneness.

    Ingredients You'll Need:

    • Fresh Green Beans
    • Olive Oil - You can swap in another cooking oil, if you'd like
    • Spices - Garlic Powder, Red Pepper Flakes, Salt, and Pepper

    Should you trim green beans?

Yes, I recommend trimming the tough ends off of the green beans. I like to line a handful up and trim the ends all at once. I then leave the green beans whole but you could chop them into smaller pieces, if you prefer.

    Other Easy Side Dishes

    • Crispy Roasted Baby Potatoes - Perfectly golden brown and crispy while being tender on the inside.
    • Roasted Pancetta Brussels Sprouts - Roasting Brussels Sprouts lets them get perfectly caramelized and flavorful.
    • Garlic Parmesan Air Fryer Broccoli - Tender with roasted edges and cooks in under 10 minutes.
    • Oven Roasted Honey Carrots - Sticky and sweet and made with just a few ingredients.

    Recipe Notes and Tips

    • Prep in Advance - The green beans can be washed, dried, and trimmed a couple days in advance.
    • Adjust Cook Time - Depending on how thick your green beans are and your preferred doneness (such as still with a bit or very tender) you can adjust the cook time. Most green beans are fork tender in 5-8 minutes.
    • Use your Favorite Spices - Have fun playing with different spice combinations!

    Leftovers, Storage, and Reheating

The green beans are best served right after making.

Leftovers and Storage: Leftover green beans can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 4 days.

Reheating: I recommend reheating in the air fryer (lined with foil) or the oven at 350 degrees F until warmed.

    • Method: Air Fryer
    • Cuisine: American

    Ingredients

    • 8oz fresh green beans, ends trimmed
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
    • ⅛-¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
    • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
    • Pinch of ground black pepper

    Instructions

    1. Season Green Beans - In a medium bowl, toss together the prepped green beans with the oil and spices. Toss until the green beans are evenly coated. Add to your air fryer basket in an even layer.
    2. Air Fry - Air fry the green beans at 375 degrees F for 5-8 minutes. The cook time will vary based on the thickness of your green beans as well as how done you like them. I recommend checking at 5 minutes and then cooking longer, if needed.
