Ingredients You'll Need for Firecracker Ground Chicken:
- Ground Chicken - You could also make this with ground turkey.
- Buffalo Sauce
- Honey - or brown sugar
- Apple cider vinegar
- Spices - Ground ginger, garlic powder, salt, and pepper
- Olive Oil - or other cooking oil
- Green Onions - For a garnish
How To Make this Easy Firecracker Ground Chicken
- Mix Sauce - Start by mixing up the firecracker sauce in a small bowl. I like to go light on added salt since the soy sauce is salty.
- Cook Chicken - Heat a large skillet over medium heat with the oil. Once hot, add the chicken. Cook, while crumbling, until almost fully cooked.
- Add Sauce - Add the firecracker sauce to the chicken and combine with the chicken while letting the chicken finish cooking. Cook for a couple of minutes so the sauce slightly thickens and cooks into the chicken. Sprinkle the chicken with the sliced green onions.
- Serve - Serve the chicken with rice and steamed veggies.
Storage and Freezing
- Storage - The cooked firecracker chicken can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
- Freezing - The chicken even freezes well. Freeze the chicken in freezer bags for up to 3 months. I recommend thawing in the fridge before reheating.
