    Why I Love This Recipe

    • 15 Minute Meal! - Just mix up the sauce, cook the chicken, and done!
    • Minimal ingredients - You only need 3 ingredients, plus a few staple spices, to make the easy firecracker sauce.
    • Easy Meal Prep - I love storing this ground chicken in meal prep containers with rice and veggies for ready to go meals.

Ingredients You'll Need for Firecracker Ground Chicken:

    • Ground Chicken - You could also make this with ground turkey.
    • Buffalo Sauce
    • Honey - or brown sugar
    • Apple cider vinegar
    • Spices - Ground ginger, garlic powder, salt, and pepper
    • Olive Oil - or other cooking oil
    • Green Onions - For a garnish
buffalo sauce, honey, soy sauce, and spices in prep bowls

How To Make this Easy Firecracker Ground Chicken

    1. Mix Sauce - Start by mixing up the firecracker sauce in a small bowl. I like to go light on added salt since the soy sauce is salty.
    2. Cook Chicken - Heat a large skillet over medium heat with the oil. Once hot, add the chicken. Cook, while crumbling, until almost fully cooked.
    3. Add Sauce - Add the firecracker sauce to the chicken and combine with the chicken while letting the chicken finish cooking. Cook for a couple of minutes so the sauce slightly thickens and cooks into the chicken. Sprinkle the chicken with the sliced green onions.
    4. Serve - Serve the chicken with rice and steamed veggies.

    Storage and Freezing

    • Storage - The cooked firecracker chicken can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
    • Freezing - The chicken even freezes well. Freeze the chicken in freezer bags for up to 3 months. I recommend thawing in the fridge before reheating.

    Serving Suggestions

This firecracker chicken is so versatile! I like to serve it with cooked rice and steamed veggies. It's also great with stir fried noodles.

    More Recipes Using Buffalo Sauce

    • Grilled Buffalo Chicken - Super easy grilled chicken recipe that is fast AND flavorful!
    • Buffalo Smashed Potatoes - Crispy on the outside, tender and fluffy on the inside, and drizzled in buffalo sauce. Serve with your favorite ranch or blue cheese dressing.
