    Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken is only 5 ingredients and perfect for meal prep. All made right in your crockpot! A super easy chicken breast recipe that the whole family will love.

    • Minimal ingredients - You only need 5 ingredients and you might already have them all in your kitchen.
    • Hands off crock pot cooking - Let your slow cooker do all the work!
    • Healthy meal prep - I love storing this shredded chicken in meal prep containers with rice and veggies for ready to go meals.
    • Family friendly - Both kids and adults love this chicken! As written, it is not very spicy but you could easily make it spicier, if you'd like.

    Ingredients You'll Need for Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken:

    • Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts
    • Low Sodium Soy Sauce
    • Honey
    • Minced Garlic
    • Chili Garlic Sauce - You can use more of the chili garlic sauce in this Sheet Pan Pineapple Shrimp recipe.

    How To Make Honey Garlic Chicken in the Slow Cooker

    1. Mix Sauce - Mix up the sauce ingredients with a fork.
    2. Add To Crock Pot - Add the chicken breasts to a crockpot and pour over the sauce.
    3. Slow Cook - Cook the chicken on High for about 2 hours or on Low for about 4 hours, or until fully cooked.
    4. Shred and Serve - Shred the chicken breasts and stir into the sauce.

    Storage and Freezing

    • Storage - The cooked and shredded chicken can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
    • Freezing - The chicken even freezes well. Freeze the shredded chicken in freezer bags for up to 3 months. I recommend thawing in the fridge before reheating.

    Serving Suggestions

    This honey garlic chicken is so versatile! I like to serve it with cooked rice and steamed veggies. It's also great with stir fried noodles.

    Ingredients

    Honey Garlic Chicken

    • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
    • ½ cup low sodium soy sauce
    • ½ cup honey
    • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
    • 1 tablespoon chili garlic sauce
    • 1 tablespoon cornstarch, optional, to thicken
    • Cooked Rice and Veggies for serving

    Instructions

    1. Mix Sauce - In a small bowl or liquid measuring cup, mix up the honey, soy sauce, garlic, and chili garlic sauce. I like to use a fork or whisk to combine.
    2. Add to Slow Cooker - In the insert of your slow cooker, add the chicken breasts and pour over the sauce.
    3. Slow Cook - Cook on high for 2 hours or on low for 4 hours, or until the chicken breasts are cooked (165 degrees F).
    4. Shred Chicken - When the chicken breasts are fully cooked, remove onto a plate and shred with two forks. If using the cornstarch, to the sauce left in the slow cooker, whisk in the cornstarch. Add back in the shredded chicken and stir to combine. Cook on High for 15-20 minutes to allow sauce to thicken and coat the chicken.
    5. Serve - Serve or store and enjoy!

    Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 4 days
