⭐Why I Love It:
- Ready in 20 Minutes - One of the best parts about shrimp is how FAST they cook. Also check out this recipe for Grilled Shrimp Kabobs made on your gas or charcoal grill.
- Only 5 Ingredients - I love that making cajun shrimp on the Blackstone requires just a few simple ingredients!
- Cajun Flavor - I love the combination of the slightly spicy cajun seasoning with shrimp. You can either use a store-bought cajun spice blend or make your own with pantry staples.
🥘Ingredients
- Butter - Because shrimp aren't cooked at a super high heat, butter is a great choice for this recipe to add more flavor. But you can swap in an oil like canola oil or avocado oil.
- Minced Garlic - A heaping spoonful of garlic is a must for flavor. You can use freshly minced garlic or the kind in a jar to keep it easy.
- Raw Shrimp - You'll want shrimp that are peeled and deveined. The tails are optional! I used medium-large shrimp, but any size could work just adjust the cook time accordingly.
- Cajun Seasoning - You can buy a jar of a Cajun spice blend in most grocery stores, or you can make your own using the Cajun spice blend in this Cajun Rice with Sausage dinner recipe.
- Fresh Parsley - This can easily be omitted but I think it adds nice color and freshness to finish the recipe.

🔪Step by Step Instructions
Photo 1 - Toss the shrimp (you can leave the tails on or remove) with the cajun seasoning and preheat your griddle to Medium heat.
Photo 2 - Add the butter and minced garlic and cook for just 30 seconds to 1 minute so the butter is mostly melted.
Photo 3 - Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes then flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes. Cook time will vary on size of shrimp - shrimp is done when it is an opaque pink and starting to curl up.
Photo 4 - Remove the shrimp from the Blackstone right away so they stop cooking and sprinkle with the chopped parsley. Enjoy!
💭Recipe Tips
- Leftovers - Leftovers keep well in the fridge for up to 3 days. Shrimp can get tough when reheated so I either eat the leftovers cold (they're great on a salad!) or reheat until JUST warmed in a skillet on the stove over medium heat.
- Make on the stove Inside - If a rainy day ruined your Blackstone plans, this recipe can easily be in a large skillet over medium heat.
👩🍳Recipe FAQs
Shrimp cooks super fast so it can be easy to overcook it. The easiest way to tell if shrimp is cooked is by the color - raw shrimp is a translucent gray, but cooked shrimp is an opaque white and pink. Shrimp will also start to curl up when it's cooked, but it doesn't need to be in a tight C shape as that can sometimes be overcooked. It's best to remove shrimp from the heat source as soon as it it cooked and the opaque color.
