⭐Why I Love It:
- 20 Minute Blackstone Dinner - There are few dinners that come together this fast! For another easy Asian-inspired dinner on the flat top griddle, try this Blackstone Veggie Fried Rice.
- Easy Clean Up - Because the entire meal is cooked on the Blackstone, clean up is super fast!
- Egg Roll-Inspired Flavors - It's a great recipe when you're craving Chinese takeout, but want something lighter.
- Simple Ingredients - Pick up some pork sausage (or ground pork) and a bag of coleslaw mix and you've got the base of this easy recipe!
🥘Ingredients
- Canola Oil - I typically use canola oil on my Blackstone as it has a higher smoke point.
- Onion - white onion or yellow onion. If you're in a pinch, I've also made this without diced onion and just sprinkled extra green onions on top and it's still fantastic!
- Green Onions - also called scallions or spring onions. I like to thinly slice lots of them to sprinkle on top before serving. I separate out the whites and sauté those with the diced onions.
- Pork Sausage - or ground pork. You can also use ground pork to make these Asian Pork Meatballs. You can even substitute a turkey sausage, ground turkey, or ground beef.
- Garlic - fresh cloves or a jar of minced garlic works great.
- Ginger - fresh or a jar of minced ginger can be used.
- Bag of Coleslaw Mix - You can also use a bag of shredded cabbage since coleslaw mix is just shredded cabbage and shredded carrots.
- Sriracha - This is to add a kick of spice! If you don't have any sriracha, I also like to use a pinch of red pepper flakes.
- Soy Sauce - I use low sodium soy sauce. You can also swap in tamari or coconut aminos.
- Sesame Seeds - I love to do a generous shake of sesame seeds on top before serving.

🍚Serving Suggestions
I find this recipe to be a filling meal on its own, but if you want to stretch it even further, I love topping a bowl with a fried egg. It's also great served alongside cooked white rice (or even kimchi fried rice) or spooned into lettuce cups and eaten like lettuce wraps.
🔪Step by Step Instructions
Photo 1 - Start by preheating the grill on medium-low, add a coat of oil, and add the pork sausage and onions (diced white onion and whites of the green onions). Lower the heat to low, if needed, and cook both. Crumbling the sausage while cooking.
Photo 2 - Add the minced garlic and ginger to the Blackstone and let cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant, then toss everything together. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
Photo 3 - Add the bag of coleslaw mix and spread everything out so the coleslaw mix softens and lightly browns.
Photo 4 - Add the soy sauce and sriracha then toss it all together. Season with salt and pepper, to taste. Top with the sliced green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds. Enjoy!

- Prep Time: 5 minutes
- Cook Time: 15 minutes
- Total Time: 20 minutes
- Yield: 4 servings
- Category: Blackstone, Dinner
- Method: Blackstone, Griddle
- Cuisine: Asian
Ingredients
- Canola Oil, to grease Blackstone
- 1 small white or yellow onion, diced
- 5 green onions, thinly sliced, whites and greens separated
- 1 lb pork sausage, or ground pork
- 1 tablespoons minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon minced ginger
- 1 14 ounce bag coleslaw mix, see note
- 1 tablespoon Sriracha
- 3 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
- Sesame seeds, optional for topping
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Prep - Start by getting your Blackstone griddle preheated to Medium-Low and prep your ingredients (dice your onion and thinly slice the green onions - separate the whites from the greens).
- Cook Sausage and Onions - Add a coat of oil to the preheated Blackstone and add the pork sausage and onions (diced white onion and whites of the green onions). Lower the heat to low, if needed, and cook both. Crumbling the sausage while cooking. The onions should be translucent and tender and the pork should be fully cooked (no longer pink)
- Add Garlic and Ginger - Add the minced garlic and ginger to the Blackstone and let cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant, then toss everything together. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
- Add Coleslaw Mix - Add the bag of coleslaw mix and spread everything out so the coleslaw mix softens and lightly browns.
- Finish with Soy Sauce - Add the soy sauce and sriracha then toss it all together. Season with salt and pepper, to taste. Top with the sliced green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds. Enjoy!
Notes
Coleslaw Mix - You can also swap in just shredded cabbage. When I want to really up my veggie intake, I will use a second bag of coleslaw mix and add a little extra garlic/ginger/soy sauce.
