    Why I love It:

    • Sweet and Creamy - The perfect sweet treat that isn't too heavy thanks to the fruit pairing.
    • Make Ahead Friendly - This cream cheese dip for fruit can be mixed up and stored in the fridge until ready to serve.
    • Only 5 Ingredients - Just a few simple ingredients that you can find anywhere!

    Ingredients

    • Cream Cheese- Use the regular, brick-style cream cheese
    • Marshmallow Creme or Fluff
    • CoolWhip Topping - The kind that comes in a frozen tub
    • Vanilla Extract
    • Salt - Adding a pinch of salt to sweet things makes such a difference!

    Variations

This Cream Cheese Fruit Dip recipe is super customizable! Here are some of my favorite variations:

    • Maraschino Cherry Juice - try mixing in a few tablespoons to give the dip a pretty pink color and a subtle cherry taste.
    • Less Cool Whip - For a less sweet and slightly tangier fruit dip, try adding less of the whipped topping. You can start with just 1 cup, taste, and adjust.
    • Chocolate Fruit Dip - Try adding about ¼ cup of cocoa powder.
    • Lemon - Add the zest of 1 lemon and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice for a zesty spin.
    • Strawberry Fruit Dip - Mix in a couple tablespoons of strawberry jam.

    Step by step instructions

    1. Mix Cream Cheese and Marshmallow Creme- Start by beating the softened cream cheese with a hand mixer then add in the marshmallow creme, vanilla, and salt and beat to combine
    2. Mix in Whipped Topping - Add the whipped topping to the mixture and beat on a low speed until just combined.
    3. Serve - Serve immediately or store in the fridge until ready to serve

    Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my fruit dip lumpy?

The key to a smooth and creamy fruit dip is making sure the cream cheese is softened to room temperature first. Let it sit out on the counter for at least 30 minutes before using.

    Recipe Tips:

    • Softened Cream Cheese - Using softened cream cheese is crucial. If you try to make this with cold cream cheese it won't mix up smoothly.

    Serving Ideas

Although fruit is the obvious choice for serving, that's not the only option! Here are my favorite things to serve with the dip:

    • Fruit - Berries, Sliced Apples, Grapes, Peaches, and more!
    • Graham Crackers
    • Animal Crackers
    • Vanilla Wafers
    • Pretzels
    • Cubed Pound Cake

    Storage and Make Ahead

    • Storage - The dip can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. It's a great make ahead option!
    • Make Ahead - If you make this recipe in advance, it's best to let it sit out at room temperature for about 20 minutes before serving.
