Peach Ricotta Crostini is a fun, easy appetizer for summer. Other than a quick grill (or toast in the oven) of the bread slices, there is no cooking required. Super impressive for a dinner party but super simple to make.

    Ingredients you need:

You only need 7 easy to find ingredients to make this easy summer appetizer. Here's what you need:

    • Baguette - sliced and either grilled or toasted in the oven. You can also use store-bought crostini.
    • Olive Oil - If grilling the bread slices
    • Ricotta - I recommend using whole milk ricotta. You can also make this Ricotta Bake Appetizer, Whipped Ricotta Dip with Honey, or One Pot Pasta with Ricotta and Lemon.
    • Honey
    • Peaches - You'll want to use fresh, ripe peaches not frozen or canned. If you have extra peaches, try making a dessert like this Grilled Peach Crisp recipe.
    • Balsamic Glaze
    • Fresh Basil

    Other Topping Ideas:

There are so many fun topping ideas to pair with ricotta crostini - here are some other ideas:

    • Fresh Tomatoes - Halved grape tomatoes or sliced tomatoes
    • Roasted Tomatoes
    • Pancetta
    • Grilled Vegetables
    • Sliced Pears
    • Sliced Strawberries
    • Extra Honey - Skip any extra toppings and just top the ricotta with a drizzle of honey and balsamic glaze
    • Sun Dried Tomatoes

    Step by step instructions

Crostini may be an impressive presentation but it's a cinch to make!

    1. Grill Baguette Slices - Start by slicing the baguette into thin slices and brushing each side with olive oil. Pop onto a preheated grill and grill for 1-2 minutes on each side until a little toasty with some grill marks.
    2. Mix Ricotta Spread and Slice Peaches - In a small bowl, mix together the ricotta and honey until smooth and combined. Halve and remove the pit of the peaches then thinly slice - no need to peel the peaches.
    3. Assemble Crostini - Spread a little of the honey ricotta on each slice of bread, top with 1 or 2 peach slices, drizzle with balsamic glaze, and sprinkle with thinly sliced basil.
    4. Serve Immediately

    Frequently Asked Questions

    What is Crostini?

Crostini translates to "little toasts" in Italian. They are small slices of toasted bread (typically a baguette) that are topped with various savory toppings. Common toppings are cheese like ricotta and fruit or vegetables.

What can I do instead of grilling the bread?

If you don't have a grill or don't want to fire it up, you can also toast the bread in the oven. Add the olive oil brushed bread slices to a baking sheet and toast in a 350 degrees F oven for about 5 minutes until toasted.

What can I substitute for the ricotta?

If you don't like ricotta, you could swap in goat cheese. You could either buy a spreadable goat cheese or mix up your own goat cheese spread by blending goat cheese with the honey and a little bit of olive oil to make an easier to spread consistency.

    Make Ahead Tips

While I don't recommend fully assembling the crostini in advance, you can prep the ricotta. The honey ricotta can be mixed together up to 2 days in advance - give it another stir right before using.
