⭐️Why I Love It
- Versatile - I love to keep a batch of this dressing in the fridge to use as a dip, drizzled over a rice bowl, or as a salad dressing.
- Fresh Herbs - Using fresh dill and fresh chives gives homemade Greek Yogurt ranch an even fresher and brighter flavor than store-bought.
- Greek Yogurt Based- Greek Yogurt is a staple in my fridge and I love using it in recipes to add more protein. Also try making the Cilantro Lime Greek Yogurt Dressing in this Cilantro Lime Pasta Salad recipe.
🥘Ingredients
- Plain Greek Yogurt - This is the base of the ranch dressing. I like to use a full fat Greek Yogurt for better flavor. You can swap in regular plain yogurt as well, but it won't be as thick.
- Fresh Dill - You can swap in dried dill if you can't find fresh.
- Fresh Chives - I like to slice the chives very thin so they blend well into the ranch.
- Apple Cider Vinegar - This adds a bit of tang.
- Garlic Cloves - I like to use whole garlic cloves so I can grate them onto a microplane into the ranch. In a pinch, you can swap in garlic powder.
- Water - Greek yogurt is thicker than regular yogurt, so if you want the ranch to be a more pourable consistency, then you can add a little water to thin it out.

Photo 1 - Add the Greek yogurt, garlic, chives, dill, apple cider vinegar, and salt/pepper to a bowl and mix together to combine. Taste and adjust salt/pepper, as needed.
Photo 2 - Stir ranch dressing to combine. Greek yogurt is pretty thick, so you can thin out the ranch with a little water, starting with a tablespoon or two at a time.
💭Recipe Tips
- Ranch dressing is Make Ahead Friendly - You can mix up the ranch and store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
- Thin out with Water - As written, the ranch is quite thick. This is great if you're using as a dip, but if you want to use as a salad dressing then you can thin it out with a little water.
